Jeff Watkins teaches at Longview School within the Montgomery County Public School System in Maryland, where he serves K-12 students with significant support needs. He is passionate about utilizing assistive technology to make activities accessible for all students. Guided by the belief that every student can participate in any activity — even if it looks a little different — Jeff strives to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. His dedication to student success was recognized in 2022 when he was honored as Maryland’s Adapted PE Teacher of the Year. He was also recently named a SHAPE America 2024 Eastern District Teacher of the Year.

Janine Wilkins is a Physical Education teacher at Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Illinois, where she has taught for 23 years. She holds a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master’s in School Administration from Olivet University. Janine has taught a range of courses, including Co-ed Freshman PE, Junior Leaders PE, and Strength and Conditioning. She also helped create and leads the PEOPEL Adapted PE program, along with the PEOPEL Tutors/Training course, where general education students support Adapted PE students.

Justin Lund is the 2024 SHAPE Central District Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year as well as the 2022 MNSHAPE Developmental Adapted Physical Education (DAPE) Teacher of the Year. He has been teaching DAPE in Bloomington Public Schools since 2016 at the pre-K and elementary levels. He teaches elementary Unified Physical Education and has helped his school become an incredibly inclusive Unified Champion School with Special Olympics Minnesota. Justin is a big proponent of adapting any equipment in physical education to help all students succeed.
